Formatting Rules
- Papers should be submitted in English or in Turkish.
- Papers should be written by utilising the Word template.
- The paper document should contain only the manuscript. Author
names, title of the article, abstract, JEL codes and keywords
must not be included in the document.
- The form on the paper submission page should contain, for
papers in English: the English title of the article, the abstract
in English (the length must be between 100 and 250 words); for
papers in Turkish: the Turkish and the English title of the
article, the abstract in Turkish and in English (the length of
each abstract must be between 100 and 250 words); author names,
JEL codes and keywords.
- Papers together with all appendices should not exceed 20
(twenty) pages in length.
- Do not use any footnotes. Either integrate footnotes into the
main text or present them in the references section using
citations in the (Author, Year) format.
- Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word 365 or later
(.docx) format.
- The file size of the full paper should be less than 5MB.
- Papers should be set on the A4 page (297mm x 210mm).
- Margins should be 25mm from top, 25mm from bottom, 25mm from
left and 25mm from right.
- The area with text should not exceed 247mm x 160mm. All tables
and figures should be formatted such that they do not exceed
these margins.
- Do not use any header or footer, neither at the bottom nor at
the top of the pages.
- The main text should be set in Times New Roman, 10 point, and
justified (the style “Normal”).
- Use single line spacing throughout the entire document.
- Do not leave any empty lines between paragraphs, and before or
after headings.
- Do not use any tabs or spaces or empty lines before
paragraphs.
- First level headings should be written in Mixed Case, all
capital letters are not allowed.
- All headings within the main text should be formatted with the
style “Heading 1”. This will ensure that they are automatically
numbered.
- Figures and tables should have captions below the
corresponding figure or table, and should be formatted with the
style “Caption”.
- Figures and tables should be numbered starting from 1.
- Please check carefully that the manuscript does not have any
punctuation, spelling or grammatical errors.
- Citations and references should follow the guidelines given in
the American Psychological
Association (APA) Style, 7th edition.
- Citations in the main text should follow the (Author, Year)
format, for example: (Krugman, 1999) or Krugman (1999).
- If more than one work from the same author and year is to be
cited, they should be numbered starting with a then b then c,
etc., for example: (Krugman, 1999a) and (Krugman, 1999b).
- Citations with two authors should appear as (Krugman and
Venables, 2001).
- Citations with more than two authors should appear as
(Krugman, et. al, 2002).
- The References section at the end of the paper should start
with the word “References”, set in Times New Roman, 12 point, in
bold.
- Each reference should appear as a bulleted list item in
alphabetical order.
- The references should follow the APA Reference Guide, 7th
edition. Examples
- Do not place any links (http://...) into the main text or
captions. Put the links into the references section.
