A Study on the Relationship Between Environmental Concern and Green Purchasing Behavior
Abstract
Especially in recent years, social awareness of environmental issues has begun to influence individual activities. People want to minimize these problems in the world they live in and continue living a quality life. In line with this desire, consumers' growing awareness of environmental issues has changed their purchasing behavior. An environmental concern has arisen in consumers about the environmental problems they experience, directing them toward green purchasing behavior. Environmental concern can be defined as the negative feelings consumers experience due to increasing concerns and sadness about environmental threats and problems. Green purchasing behavior is when consumers purchase products or services that do not harm the environment due to environmental concern and awareness of environmental problems. This study aims to present which countries have emerged in studies considering environmental concern and green purchasing behavior together and to identify the year that these studies began. To this end, data will be analyzed by searching "environmental concern" and "green purchasing behavior" together in the Web of Science database. This current topic, studied by an increasing number of researchers every day, can provide a roadmap for future research by analyzing the results of this study.
