Özet

Bu çal??ma, K?rg?zistan ekonomisinde ihracata dayal? büyüme hipotezinin geçerlili?ini de?erlendirmeyi amaçlamaktad?r. Bu amaçla, 1992'den 2022'ye kadar olan dönemde K?rg?zistan'?n y?ll?k GSYH, ihracat ve ithalat verileri kullan?larak bir analiz gerçekle?tirilmi?tir. De?i?kenler aras?ndaki temel nedensellik ili?kilerini incelemek için Fourier Toda-Yamamoto (FTY) nedensellik yakla??m? kullan?lm??t?r. FTY sonuçlar?, K?rg?zistan'da ihracattan ithalata ve GSYH'den ihracata do?ru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ili?kisi oldu?unu göstermektedir. Bu bulgular, K?rg?zistan ekonomisinde ihracata dayal? büyüme hipotezinin geçersiz oldu?unu ve ihracata dayal? ekonomik büyüme hipotezinin geçerli oldu?unu göstermektedir. Sonuçlar, K?rg?zistan'da ekonomik büyümenin ihracat?, ihracat?n da ithalat? te?vik etti?i anlam?na gelmektedir.

Is The Export-Led Growth Hypothesis Valid in Kyrgyzstan? Empirical Evidence from the Fourier, Toda-Yamamoto Causality Test

Abstract

The present study aims to assess the validity of the export-led growth hypothesis within the Kyrgyzstan economy. To this end, an analysis is conducted utilizing annual GDP, export, and import data from Kyrgyzstan during the period spanning from 1992 to 2022. The Fourier Toda-Yamamoto (FTY) causality approach is employed to examine the underlying causality relationships between the variables. The FTY results indicate a unidirectional causality relationship from exports to imports and from GDP to exports in Kyrgyzstan. These findings suggest that the export-led growth hypothesis is invalid in the Kyrgyz economy and that the export-led economic growth hypothesis is valid. The results imply that economic growth encourages exports and exports encourage imports in Kyrgyzstan.
